This year’s the very first time Leo, I’ll be coming on own to a concert of yours on 2nd July. And thanks to you, this year’s an exciting one – a good start to the year with you on the television and now on tour is just so exciting.
Just wanted to say that whilst stoping in London for a a long weekend we met Leo at the restaurant and I was greatly surprised how down to earth Leo Sayer really is, after a great list of No.1 around the world and shows that were all sold out… there’s Mr Sayer like any other person enjoying a minute of peace but again great people don’t need the noise and flashes to know how big and talented they are. Lovely to see you so well after all those year of real music and talent. All the Best!
Hi Leo thank you for your very kind message reply and informing me much appreciative. Its good to know you’ve got it all in place and also very interesting that you’ve set the show for you and the band to play too -wow that sounds brilliant Leo. Me too can’t wait and now I’ll be going around singing Leo Sayer songs and bouncing off those walls again. ‘One Man Band’ is a top favourite of mine including ‘When I Need You’ and so are many many more of your fine songs.
Hi Cheryl, You’ll have to be patient, I’m away from Australia ’til the end of July, but there are some shows planned from November onwards, watch out for news on the ‘Live News’ page as soon as the dates are confirmed…
Not rehearsing for the Once In A Lifetime tour yet C, currently taking a little break, then will get together with the band when they are available. It’s all in place now, and I’ve set the show that we’ll play too. Can’t wait for the tour to start…
I Can Dance that was good! Leo haven’t been on your messageboard lately but you’re probably very busy rehearsing for the forthcoming Once In A Lifetime tour. The tour also starts on the date what would have been my ex-husband’s and my 20th wedding anniversary. I wonder what it felt like for you celebrating your birthday back in the UK?
Hello Leo … I never before know about you, not listened consciously … But this night it happened, during some curiously Windows – Space – walks … In a blog there were many, many songs of YouTube, next and next artist … Suddenly I cried “What! A voice I looove! Who is it? Oooh, so nice looking … But WHO is it?” … so now, early in the morning I know a lot more about you and you wunderful voice, looking and textes. Myself (in the same age as you ..) was publishing some poesie with no refusing at a very wellknown Edition in Sweden, but something made me continue writing for my garderobe (not for publishing yet) .. However, thank you for an interesting night with your songs and your life – and welvome to Stockholm!
Hi Leo, have heard you and David Courtney talk about the songs you did on your original ‘Silverbird’ cd from the One Man Band reissue series and one song mentioned was ‘The Hour Is Love’ recorded by your band ‘Patches’ which was the B side of ‘Living In America’. Is there any chance please that ‘The Hour Is Love’ song can be released on a future album of yours?
Leo, is there any truth to the rumor that you once did a as of now unreleased duet single with willie nelson in the early 80’s ? If so would there be any chance of it ever being released?
So glad I’ve booked up to go and see you Leo, in just four weeks time today. Its so nice to have you back in your native home country! Will be setting off early and probably have something to eat in the hotel adjacent to the arena.
Leo-hope your well. You were one of the 8 tracks in rotation in my parents 80′ Oldsmobile Cutlass. Anyway-I’ve worked you into a short story, as yourself-and your charachter is pretty crazy. I need to get in touch with “your people” to discuss any contractual/legal ramifications, if any, may arise.
Hi Leo, thank you for sharing about the way you were on cbb especially to the women. Its nice to know and to share that with you and your music. i watched that piece of clip again last night and i watch it regularly on you tube. Shame you’re unable to send the one mentioned but I fully understand regarding the legal jargon side of it. Good luck with the OIALT show. I’m looking forward to seeing you there and near the front!
Hi Leo, hope your shows are going well and hope your rehearsals are too. July will soon be here, brilliant – I would like to know please do you have a favourite film ?
Will you ever come to perform in Israel Leo?? I’m a fan of yours since years, your music & voice/ lyrics that express so well your terrific personality of one REAL artist! (so rare these days…)
Leo come and tour New Zealand. If you just across the ditch it should not be too much trouble, there are plenty of underground Leo fans. We’d love to see you here.
Hi Leo, wow so nice to know what I was informed about you on celebrity big brother. Well I’ve been dancing around the living room all afternoon to more Leo Sayer songs and am I hearing right are there two versions of your song Train?
One version is on your album ‘Just A Boy’ track 2 and the other version is on your album, ‘ The Very Best Of Leo Sayer’ track 10. I love both those tracks and I’m just wondering is the song about the time when you use to take the twenty minute train journey from Shoreham-by-Sea to the Worthing Workshop? Also interested to know please, what songs did your first group Jester sing/release ?
I look forward to hearing from you.
No J, you’ve got this wrong, and in answer to Lyn, here’s the facts behind my song, “Moonlighting”…. Montague Street is in the town centre of Worthing, Sussex. The song is based on a true event in 1970, when the van driver and roadie of our local band there, eloped one night from a bar/club called the ‘Mexican Hat” with his girlfriend and headed up to Gretna Green in a re-painted Morris van. Gretna Green was a village just over the English Scottish border near Carlisle, where any couple could legally get married without their parents’ consent. The new M6 motorway link between Rugby and Carlisle had just been completed and so this was the route that the couple took to get there. Nowadays their route is listed as 361 miles, and I took the liberty of rounding that off tothree hundred ‘cos it sounded better. The song ends optimistically with the line “we’re only ten miles to Gretna, they’re three hundred behind”, but they never did get there. The girl’s dad was the Chief of Police in Worthing and had the couple stopped by Carlisle Police early in the morning a few miles further up the road towards their destination. Sad but true. I hope this clears up any doubts about the background of the song and thanks for everybody’s interest.
+1
Hi Leo, I’ve just realized its six years ago and in the same month and almost to the same date that I saw you before (for the third time). I’m so excited and listening to all your songs especially from the Leo Sayer album and the As and Bs album of yours.

Im just in the kitchen making some toast and one of your hits has just come on the radio. Ive found myself suddenly dancing round the kitchen waving my hands and singing out loud. Dude your the greatest.

loved your music in the 70’s leo……….still luv it now, listen all the time. ‘Have you ever been in love’ is one of the best, ‘orchard road’, & ‘thunder in my heart’ just reminds me of when i was young & youthful (I was 18). My dad spotted you first on ‘Top of the pops’…..he was amazed with’The show must go on’!!! Sad to say I lost my dad in 1997….but that song will always bring back wonderful memories of my dad and the seventies!!

In answer to Lyn Petkovic’s earlier message, they “moonlighting lvers” were travelling from LOndon. His blue Morris van was in
Montague Street, which is just around the corner from the British Mueseum.
I have always enjoyed your music, especially when I was growing up in the 70’s and 80’s. I found your website today and listened to a couple of recent tracks on your media player. I haven’t heard you in ages and I am so glad I looked. Your voice is great and I enjoy your music. You’re fantastic!
