Hi Leo,
A friend was trying to think of the name of one of your songs, she kept saying Thunder, so I informed her its Thunder In My Heart, she said its a good one, it is another brilliant song of yours and good it hit the number one spot in the UK charts again 3 years ago, showing what good music is all about, as you rightly said todays music isn’t music.
All your songs are timeless!
I hope I’ve remembered the year right when Thunder In My Heart was in the UK charts again. Be good if More Than I Can Say, One Man Band and when I need you re-entered the charts again as well. Love always, C
ps, its 4B followed by the rest of the details given to you. just wanted to make the number and letter of my address clearer for you.
Thanking you, Leo
Dear Leo,

my address is:-

Thanking you, Leo. J Coates
ps and i think on the clip Sharon says, ‘come with me and we’ll talk about it’. its brilliant understanding the reason why you were so offensive on cbb Leo, especially to the women on there.
a big big big thank you again to you. you’re truly wonderful you are Leo!
ps…. i meant to say your autograph was signed with love Leo Sayer, and four big kisses. again thank you, Leo ~ going to listen to some more Leo again now and watch the clip again!
Hi Leo, are so heartfelt, you and your song changed my life in many ways unbelieveably too. and so thrilled to be a big devoted lifetime fan of yours. I fully understand and sympathise why your song when I need you changed your life in many ways. i seem to think Sharon was one of the security team on cbb….smilies. been watching that clip time and time again and learnt off by heart all the words Leo says on the clip! its lovely having your autograph Leo, in my autograph book signed with love Leo, and four big kisses – a big big big thank you, Leo for that too. its brilliant to beable to correspond and keep in touch with you on your wall Leo. Thank you, Leo.
played when I need you on piano to a friend today, and she reckognized it. and started singing it. i told her, Leo gets us all singing it at his show and leaves us singing it on our own for a while and do the arm movement. and thinking of Leo, a tear came to my eyes again.
i think she said that’s the only song of Leo’s she really knows, so i mentioned to her more than i can say and one man band and told her, that’s the order you sang them in on the eve of 2nd July this year.
love and kisses to you, Leo, alwaysxoxoxoxoxoxo
Hi Leo, oh that’ll be brilliant mate, to have some Leo Sayer branded T-shirts for sale in your online shop and sweat shirts, especially small sizes, best things come in little packages!! Me too would rather buy from Leo, the wonderful man himself….and it would also be brilliant if Leo released a DVD, telling the life story of Leo Sayer, and could call it the same as your online story of Leo Sayer, ‘The Story So Far’, I wonder what you think to that idea, and also when will your online shop be opening?
Be brilliant when it does open!
The online store: will you be doing some T-shirts mate? There’s a famous picture of you with a partic. hairstyle I recall… that’d go down nicely, and I’d rather buy from yourself than some pirate. Power to yer elbow!
Hi Leo, hope you’re okay and things are well with you. am looking forward to getting the dvd of you featured with The Wiggles,
You Make Me Feel Like Dancing. And also looking forward to your new Australian import cd, Greatest Hits, (just ordered both).will be brilliant just like you are brilliant!
Just thinking about you Leo, and also when I need you brings a tear to my eyes, always has that effect on me. i love the way you perform
when I need you, in your shows. i remember the way you performed
when I need you, in all the shows i’ve see you perform it in, and its brilliant i seem to resemble your ex-wife, Leo. thanks for the wonderful honour, your music and the memories XXXXXX
Hello Leo,
I’ve been asked to ask you, when you do a concert again please would you consider doing a concert at St.Margarets Hall, Cheltenham? I don’t know the size of their seating capacity, sorry. For further details of the hall please check out their website. Their website address is:- http://www.stmargaretshall.co.uk/
It would be brilliant to see you in Cheltenham again, Leo!
Hi Leo, me too hope you’re doing alright. Come to think of it, I too never got to hear all your classic hits for the same reason. And it was in the 90’s when I had the immense great pleasure of meeting you, I was 38 then (in 1998) and 39 the second time (in 1999) when I very fortunately got to hang out with you. A big big big thank you for everything Leo. You’re my life you are, I think the world of you, Leo.
Immensely interesting to know about you and The Racoons – Leo Sayer singing ‘Taking My Time’, wow what a brilliant song that is too. Since the mention of it in the message by Luke, on your wall, I had to go and find out what it sounded like and found it on You Tube, and listened to it. Mmmm, You know the song has the same effect on me, as you singing One Man Band, and I’ve started jumping on the chair again, another great catchy tune and would be brilliant if there’s any chance of you releasing ‘Taking My Time’ on a forthcoming CD? And have also found the song Luke also mentioned ‘I Am The Mirror’, on you tube another lovely song and would also be good if that one could be released on a forthcoming Leo Sayer CD.
Yes, its brilliant the recently rerelease of your albums with bonus tracks. It was me, who spoke to Adrian Coirns of Chrysalis sometime ago in the late 90’s, 1999/2000 I think it was, when I read a message from you, saying you took fans requests and hoped that the record companies would release more of your albums but as if they just ignored you. I wasn’t going to have them ignore Leo Sayer. So, I picked up the phone and spoke to Adrian, and kept on to him, told him there is a big demand out there for Leo Sayer records, and I’m one of them….and half way through the conversation, Adrian bowed down and agreed to release them but he’d have to speak with your manager first he told me. He also said other record companies such as Rhino and others would also release some, so glad they have been rereleased as Luke says hooray too right!
My favourite re-issue albums of yours Leo are:- ‘Just A Boy’, and ‘Silverbird’.
(I’ve been in a small recording studio, years ago that was, was going to record some of my poems but didn’t learn them all off by heart) the only poem I’ve ever written and learnt off by heart is the one I wrote especially for Leo Sayer, and presented it to him in Blackpool. Know you wrote poems when you were 10/11, and later put music to them. Hope I’ve remembered right that the following, ‘Innocent Bystander’, ‘Drop Back’, and ‘Silverbird’ all came from poems you wrote? I love the lyrics to your ‘Silverbird’, they’re brilliant and very descriptive, Leo.
Also, strange Luke says about you having a Canadian sounding voice, I have a pic of you (purchased a while ago from Ebay), I think the pic was taken of you in America, and someone asked me are you American? I told her, you come from Shoreham-By-Sea. And talking of Canada, I met a pen-friend from one of your earlier message boards, her name is Pat, and lives in Winnipeg, Canada, and she’s a cousin of your ex-wife, Janice Florence. Pat and I have regular correspondence by email.
What’s more interesting to discover about you Leo, is you play the guitar too, I read on an instruments profile of yours on Wikkipedia, I think it was. Its brilliant getting to know more about you, Leo. I won’t sleep now knowing I’m emailing my very favourite singer song/writer, wow, is brilliant!
Yes, Thanks again Leo and for the brilliant songs over the years!
Jan
Hi Leo,
Do you have any Anthoness or Tallis relatives in your family?
I have loved your music since the early 1970s and saw you at the War Memorial in Trenton, New Jersey and at Valley Forge Music Fair near Philadelphia in the 1970s. Silverbird touched me deep in my soul. I have many relatives still in the U.K. and my people were musicians, menagerists, and entertainers. In my mind, you have always captured the British sound in ways that no one else has–your voice, your music, and your persona. I have been revisiting all the CDs recently and I never tire of them.
Best regards,
Susan
Hope you’re doing alright. I never got to hear all your classic hits the first time around because I was never around during your peak in your career; I was growing up in the 90s but fortunately I’ve been able to hear all those great songs as if they were made only recently.
The first song I heard you singing wasn’t one of the well-known clasics: my Dad had a copy of a CD called ‘Freudiana’, on which you sang the track ‘I Am A Mirror’. I didn’t know who the singer was at the time and I always thought “wow, who is that with that powerful voice?” A couple of years later, my parents bought a video of The Raccoons On Ice (I had seen The Raccoons series before but had never seen this). We watched it at Christmas, and as the first song ‘Taking My Time’ began, I instantly recognised the voice that was singing; it was you! I actually thought you were Canadian at first because you voiced one of the characters (the forest ranger, I think) and the Canadian accent you used sounded very authentic!
I was wondering, seeing as most of your albums have been recently relreleased (with bonus tracks, hooray!), is there a chance there could be a rerelease for Le Chainon Manquant / The Missing Link soundtrack and also the three songs you recorded for The Raccoons On Ice? Especially the latter: I haven’t heard The Missing Link album, but I have an old LP of ‘Lake Freeze – The Raccoons Songtrack’, which includes the three songs you recorded for it, and those songs mean a lot to me were a big part of my childhood.
Thanks again for the brilliant songs over the years!
Luke
sure i heard the name Leo on an ad this morning. the ad said Leo.
its brilliant hearing the name Leo in ads it excites me, am always excited when there’s Leo around!!
and, its also interesting to know where you learned to play pool. i too play pool but haven’t done so for quite some time now. we certainly have a lot of things in common, that’s brilliant that isXXXXAmanda
i was at a friend’s house today and sat watching a video with her. whilst i was watching the video, a tear came to my eyes just thinking of Leo. i have amazingly discovered something about your ex-wife which to me is a great honour, wow thank you, Leo. i have a pic of her with you, dated
June 6th 1983. XXXXC
Hi Leo, yes thanks to the internet and you, i too can now email my very favourite singer/songwriter wow! which is absolutely brilliant. Its brilliant that your messageboard or (wall as I sometimes call it) has successfully remained this time. And yes its brilliant fun exploring all the contents of your brilliant website too. I enjoy it, and I enjoy Leo Sayer, he’s brilliant!!
That’s really interesting to know where one of your great soundtracks “Long Tall Glasses” and “One Man Band” were formed. As you probably know, “One Man Band” is one of my top favourite songs of yours as well as when I need you and “Long Tall Glasses”. Talking of “My Generation”, I’ve a pic of you, Leo, and I think it looks as if you’re singing that song. I have the pic by my bed. Yes, thank you Leo, for all the wonderful memories!! (that’s true the pairing spot on!) XXXXC
Hi, Leo….thanks to the internet, I can send an e-mail to one of my favourite singer/songwriters….wow! When I was about 24 years old, I worked at a great advertising agency in Melbourne which had a downstairs recreation area for staff. They installed a pool table, much to everyone’s delight. On Friday nights, everyone kicked on for a while after work. It’s where I learned pool, but, more importantly, it’s where one of the all-time great soundtracks to my life was formed: “Long, Tall Glasses,” “One Man Band” because, of course, the radio was on the whole time in that room. I can never hear those particular tracks without it taking me back to those halcyon days in advertising in the 70’s. Thanks for the memories, Leo!! I also think you were such a good sport on “Talkin’ About My Generation” the other night, riding a bicycle in the rain, having gravy ladled over you while puppies where unleashed….what can I say? Welcome to Australia! (The pairing of you and Amanda was spot on, too!)
XXXXJan
Hi Leo, its amazing to know you amazingly put yourself into the exact shape of my armchair/s when we were bobbing the month before last. I’ll never live that down. i’ve been watching when I need you on facebook again too.
Hey wow, I know where the Hey Leo comes from been watching the video online loads of times its brilliant. I just love Leo. and I too was around in the seventies, and yes sorry I was an Osmond fan to start with but I am so glad I became a true and devoted life long forever Leo Sayer fan. And yesterday, I saw a car flash its headlights they were a bright white light, and that clearly reminded me of the time when at the big arena on 2nd july, a bright white light was shone above Leo, the moment he came to look for me, as soon as it was his turn to come out and do his amazing and brilliant show, and wow he found me again after all those years. Again, I thank Leo for everything and I thank everyone else too. I appreciate.
I too hope to see Leo in concert next year on his european tour next summer, to see him sing and would be absolutely wonderful to meet him. Yes, I too love Leo’s room and Leo’s website it is very detailed and interesting. And yes, Leo’s presentation is the best, and lovely pics too. You too take care Leo, always thinking of you and love you always, bye for now. jafar atwi
Before I get ino all the mushy stuff of when I ws a teen, and 20`s I would like to say that I have never enjoyed a bio presentation as much as yours.
Very detailed, intresting, and loved all the pics. Loved the ‘Leos Room”.
Comfortable and inviting. I live in the U.S.A . So alot of new info I didn`t know when I was a kid. So back to the mushy stuff. We miss you. Grew up and still live in the suburbs of Detroit. So no matter if your black, white, yellow or purple. We love our soul, rock and southern. And we`re furiously loyal. with long memories. Come back and see us. Love to see you!!!
Hi Leo, me too was around in the seventies, and yes sorry, I was a
Donny Osmond fan then but I’m not now. I can clearly recall standing in the college grounds, holding a Leo Sayer album, a white covered album,
‘The Best Of Leo Sayer’, and the title of the album’s written in red. And a stunning picture of Leo. I knew who he was and thought to myself, I’ll come back to you later.
21 Years later, I did return to Leo Sayer, so glad I have and have been into Leo ever since. I just love him, and his new cd ‘The Greatest Hits’, is a must have to my large collection of Leo Sayer items. So glad, I’ve updated and corrected amazon’s catalogue on Leo’s new cd.
I too hope I’ll be on your european tour next summer, it’ll be lovely to see you sing and meet you, Leo. You too take care, bye for now, Tassie.
Hey Leo, hope your well, I would just like to say, although I was around in the seventies I was never a Leo fan (sorry) but 12 months ago I got the greatest hits CD, and it has been in my car CD player ever since , I just love it,and when you do a tour I hope you include Tassie on your list, take care bye for now,Rob.
oh a movie in feb 2011, leo’s doing a national tour of oz then. i’m looking forward to when he returns to the uk on a european tour next summer.
it would also be good if a dvd together with leo’s new
“The Greatest Hits” cd package would be available in uk too. hope you are okay, Leo. i still see your show the month before last in my mind especially the bobbing as well as all the other happy memories i have of you. thank you for everything Leo, and I too feel you are sincerely the best artist out of all the millions of other artists there are out there.
lots of love jafar atwi xx
Dear Leo,You havent been on your message board lately. You must be very busy!! I am going to try again with a question that I asked once before. If you could record or perform any 10 of your favorite songs[not your own writings or recordings], what would they be and why ? Great words, great melody, or great emotions ?I want to make you think about this one !! What are your favorite songs in the whole world ? Thanks for taking the time to answer. Best of luck to you. Sincerely , JoAnn
i too have loved Leo’s music and Leo since I was a teenager at 16, now 50 and I still love Leo, and his music both Leo and his music are amazing and wonderful. I have many happy memories of Leo and treasure them forever, and the pics, and I also sit in arm chair, bobbing!! especially when listening to I’m a One Man Band, its me who always wants to lend Leo a hand to his one man band, yes please Leo, I do, and I also bob to all of Leo’s other songs too. i have a load of favourite songs of Leo,

Loved your music in the 70’s when I was a teenager, my dad was overwhelmed by ‘The Show Must Go On’, he would sit in his favourite chair with his feet moving & tapping!! one man band entered the UK charts in 1974. and i believe one man band entered number 6 in the charts. i have also been thinking of writing a musical for you, and have made a start on it and come with calling it ‘Silverbird’ or ‘The Show Must Go On’ and having ‘Silverbird’ as the oveture and prologue, the musical based on the songs of leo sayer. i wonder what your kind thoughts are on that idea. C

Hi Leo, its amazing to know you amazingly put yourself into the exact shape of my armchair/s when we were bobbing the month before last. I’ll never live that down. i’ve been watching when I need you on facebook again too.
p.s yes I too agree Leo, there is just something about your voice, I just can’t express. Have watched the video again. Love you forever, jafar xx
